You’ll learn all about our local pollinators and how to enhance their habitats.
Join us at Poole Farm for a pollinator workshop, with session leader Laura Larkin.
If you want to find out more about our local pollinators, their habitats, and how to spot them, come along to this free workshop and get closer to nature!
Please arrive from 9:45 to give us time to sign everyone in and assemble in The Lookout for the talk start time of 10:00.
The first part of the session will be a talk from Laura to teach you how to recognise our local pollinators, and how to enhance their habitats. Then we will be venturing out to explore the different habitats to be found on site. If you have a camera and you’d like to take pictures, we encourage you to bring it along!
Please wear appropriate footwear, wellies or walking boots as the walk to The Lookout can be quite muddy after rain. Remember to wear lots of layers and bring along waterproofs, and a water bottle.
Unfortunately, the woods are not accessible for those with prams or those using wheelchairs.
To get to the farm you can take the 50 or 51 bus to Keswick crescent and it is a 5-minute walk from there. For those driving to the farm please park in Rydal Close residential car park. To get to the car park please put ’23 Rydal Close’ into your satnav and turn right once it says you have arrived at your destination. This will get you to the car park and you will see the ‘Derriford Community Park,’ sign at the far end of the carpark.
Please contact us at [email protected] or 07500 075719 if you have any questions.
We would usually have to charge for events like this but as we are currently being funded by the Green Minds project and Urban Innovative Action Fund, we are able to run this session for free. This event is part of our Green Minds Spark Sessions programme at The Lookout, Poole Farm.
Refreshments will be provided, tea, coffee, and biscuits. But please do bring along a water bottle and any other snacks/lunch you may need.
