Celebrating flower-rich hay meadows…
Join Shropshire Hills AONB and partners for a fun filled family day to celebrate wildflower meadows and their wealth of wildlife.
With guided meadow walks, family activities, talks and demonstration, a bio blitz, arts ‘n crafts tent, information stands and a music stage as well as a barbecue and bar.
Buglife’s Get the Marches Buzzing Team will be in attendance, so keep your eyes peeled for them and say “hello”. We will also be in the Talk Tent to discuss the importance of meadows for invertebrates!
Try your hand at scything or show your strength in the hay bale lobbing or hayrick building competitions. Experts will be on hand with some top tips for making your garden more wildlife friendly, or will be able to advise on restoring and managing larger areas as traditional hay meadows.
