Learn about the challenges, successes and surprises experienced by conservationists through invertebrate reintroductions and translocations.
Join The Biological Recording Company for a virtual event aimed at conservationists exploring the successes and challenges of reintroducing invertebrate species for conservation purposes. The symposium will delve into how translocation and captive breeding programmes have been attempted for different species of invertebrates and the lessons that have been learned through these projects.
Discussions on the importance of evidence-based conservation and how implementation of best practices can reduce the risk of failure and unintended side effects such as the spread of pathogens and parasites.
This event will be hosted by Dr Helen Taytor (Royal Zoological Society of Scotland) and will feature 4 speakers who have published their reintroduction case studies.
The presentations will be recorded and shared with those who booked alongside Q&A transcripts and lists of useful links via a password-protected website following the event.
