Join Buglife at Road to nature for a guided walk, searching for and learning all about bats and their food source night flying moths.
About this event
There are 17 different species of bat in the UK, More then any other mammal! Join Buglife for a guided walk around the road to nature, where we will use bat detectors to identify the call of bats that use the road and the surrounding countryside. the walk will then be followed by a hot chocolate and a chance to check our moth trap and learn all about bats prey moths and their fascinating ecology and adaptations to flying at night.
This event is suitable for all ages and abilities, However the walk will be over uneven and sometimes awkward terrain so participants will need to posses a low basic level of fitness, mobility and headtorch for the night walk, please also bring weather appropriate clothing and footwear.
