South Devon Stitchers
“From Moor to Sea ~ Devon’s Endangered Species”
Exhibition at Torre Abbey 30th April – 3rd July 2022
South Devon Stitchers are a group of embroiderers who meet in Torbay. Their major group project is a series of panels showing the endangered species of Devon; from Dartmoor down to the sea in Torbay (this is roughly catchment area of “The Stitchers). They identified their chosen species with the help of many local organisations and members then chose how to represent their chosen subject as realistically as possible. The three panels show different parts of the journey.
At completion of the project they decided to introduce a little fun into their stitching and the results of this will also be on show.
