The Bog Squad will be joining forces with Buglife Scotland to clear sitka and lodgepole pine seedlings at Easter Drumclair Moss in order to protect it’s valuable peatland habitat. Invasive scrub, if left to grow will take vital water resources away from the bog which threatens the specialised flora and fauna that live there. We’ll be using hand tools to remove the scrub.
The work suits all abilities, but you need a steady footing as we will be working and walking across challenging, uneven and boggy terrain.
Please bring: Water, lunch, wellies or sturdy waterproof walking boots and old work clothes – including waterproofs.
Contact: Polly Phillpot at [email protected] so we can send you the joining instructions.
This work party is kindly supported by Peatland Action.
