Bee Bank Creation at Wembury Point

Come and help us create a new bee bank, to provide habitat for the Long-horned bees. They need bare earth to burrow in to and this new bank will provide the perfect habitat.

This event will be run by experienced leaders and are suitable for anyone to join! We will provide you with all that you need, including brews and biscuits! Just wear outdoor clothes and sturdy boots or shoes.

Life on the Edge is an exciting Buglife partnership project that aims to restore viable populations of some of the UK’s rarest invertebrates and plants living along the South Devon coast between Berry Head and Wembury, including the last known colony of the Six-banded Nomad Bee (Nomada sexfasciata).

Life on the Edge is a partnership project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the FatFace Foundation, which will see Buglife working alongside South Devon National Landscape (project lead), National Trust, Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust and the South West Coast Path Association.
