Plymouth was bathed in spring sunshine this weekend, well for an hour or two. It gave us time to revisit one of our meadow projects. The Family Tree site in Central Park was planted with bluebells, primroses and Crocuses last November, to provide an early source of nectar and pollen for our pollinators. The crocuses are starting to flower now. It took a while to spot them, but once your eye caught one, plenty more were evident. I’m looking forward to seeing the bluebells and primroses come in to flower next. Our next meadow will be sown as soon as the ground is dry enough. Whitleigh will be the last of the Plymouth’s Buzzing meadows to be sown. Watch this space for details of how you can help plant our final meadow.
