A Little Patch of Ground
Today we visited a new project for Plymouth’s Buzzing. A Little Patch of Ground is a community food growing project in Efford. Residents of all ages meet weekly and learn about food growing, permaculture and their own relationships with the natural world. The project will be running for four months and end with the group making a performance about their experiences. We spoke with the group about how bugs fit in to our relationship with the natural world, how important they are for the health of our gardens and the pollinating process. A Little Patch of Ground without strawberries would not be a happy place!
After the discussion we stayed to help the group set up their new wormery – a find from a local reclamation yard.
